Engine Off Checks

Leaks, cracks or any other visible defect including propane tank and hoses hydraulic hoses and mast chains. NOTE: Operators must not place their hands inside the mast. Use a stick or other device to check chain tension.
Condition of the forks. including the top clip retaining pin and heel, and load backrest extension.
Tire condition including cuts, gouges, and rim deformations.
Air filter, belts and hoses, radiator, hood latch, etc.
Oil, water, and hydraulic fluid (engine oil, break reservoir, engine coolant, and transmission fluid). For electric units - electrolyte levels.
Check to ensure all safety decals and nameplates are in place and legible. Check that information on the nameplate matches the model and serial numbers and attachments.
Operator manual on truck and legible.
Check for grease and debris. Make sure the pedals have their rubber covers in good condition.
All safety devices are working properly including the seat belt.
Properly mounted tank, pressure relief valve pointing up, hose and connectors, tank restraint brackets, tank for dents and cracks.
Make sure that there are no cables and connectors frayed or exposed wires and that the battery restraints are in good working order.
